Straightening cycle parts

Forums

Is there anyone out there who knows of somebody/company in the Bristol area who can straighten damaged fork yokes. Or does anyone out there have a surplus set of 7" top/bottom yokes for a slimline frame.

My yokes were well bent and i straightened them just with the aid of a big vice on a strong bench and an old fork staunchion. I did the job cold back then . i would heat it up now.

Thanks for that Robert. You may have inspired me to get on and DIY. I have a biggish vice and a reasonably hefty bench. Maybe I'll give it a bash!

Not Bash ! ,plenty of leverage , a scafolding putlock is a usefull section of tube about 5ft long !. Take it slightly past the angle you need .Fit the staunchions and check with a couple of straight edges . and a critical eye.
