well, given the number of makers of pattern silencers, it is hardly surprising that some save money by not stamping. Most owners want to know performance/ quality/cost balancing, and much has been discussed on that subject here and elsewhere....

The original silencers were not stamped with Norton. It's something someone, maybe Andover, decided to do.
