Hello All,
I have the navigator all in bits. I barrel is a bit spotty and one head a bit corroded (happily the left one so I have ordered a new one from the spares scheme--there are no right ones in stock. The pistons were quite clean and are usable on plus 50. The big ends are standard and the journals not too bad.

John,
Russell Motors in London have some NOS heads in stock.
That'were I got mine from.
Ask for Les when you call and for a good price....
I needed both, they were missing also the barrels.

Hello Ulli,
I was lucky in so much as the side I want was the one the spares scheme had. I am waiting for an answer from Swansea--I'll let you know what I find out. I have not had a chance to touch the Navigator this week--I had the BSA break down on the way to work at the Braintree campus of the college--I had to be ferried home by a breakdown truck--its was the ignition coil it turns out

One or two valves were worn out and an enterprising former owner had assembled two valves without the bottom spring cups--why?
The nut on the end of the main-shaft--behind the clutch mechanism was cross thread and not done up and the locking ring needed a bit heat and a hammer to get it off.
The piston looks better that it does in this picture oddly
