5/16 hole in mudguard aligned to shock boltHi all, I have a 1955 Norton dominator 99. The mudguard has two 5/16 threaded holes that align with top shock bolts but they are I believe 3/8. Is there a special bolts or different shock absorbers needed to fit correctly? I also have two spacers that came with the bike. Please see the pictures. Please can I get your advice to set this up correctly. Thank you.Spacer between shock bolt and mudguard

Picture of the original 5/16 bolt which passes through the shock, spacer  and into the captive nut in the mudguard. I believe the later slimlines have 3/8 mounting bolts. Perhaps a previous owner drilled out your frame lugs in order to fit later shocks which were probably more available at the time. bolt

Hi Robin, thank you. I have found a 5/16 bolt for sale and possibly a sleeve to fit the 5/16 shock mounting hole. The bike when I purchased it had fibreglass mudguards fitted so the owner could have drilled them out. If not I know someone with a lath and gave some bolts I can turn down the end to fit the 9/16 mount on the mudguard. Thanks again.
