A simple question - what is the best way to attach the rubber/viton (?) knee pads to the chrome panels on the Dominator tank?
I expected the new ones I bought would have a sticky inside surface, but they don't.
I think a complete covering of thin glue is needed so that there are no unsightly bulges, and edges are totally attached.
Usual thick glue requiring both surfaces to be covered will result in an uneven surface, double sided tape will not look good and will soon come loose, Instant glue will be impractical.
Whatever is used must stick permanently to chrome.
Any suggestions?

Any contact adhesive
Works for me... a spray mount first to position then mark perimeter with felt pen. Thin coat on tank, also on rubber, wait till dry then fit to your markings. Roller over to ensure air is expelled, job done.

Robert-Super glue is rubbish
Not permanent, falls off with warm water. What did they use in the 50s?
I would try Evostick or Thixofix, Any thin contact adhesive should do it.

Thank you all.
Where I am, we don't have these glues you mention.
I'm sure though, that I'll find something similar.

Evostik or similar
The originals were stuck on with an impact adhesive like Evostik. It works well as it's flexible but VERY durable.

We used U Hoo or Bostick glue in the past ,but any thin contact adhesive will work ,. I have also used carpet tile Tackifier as i have a gallon ! . Not sure about superglue as its a bit too fast acting . And permanent.
