My 1971 frame has some issues and I've just been offered an unused MK3 frame for a reasonable price. Will the 1971 motor, gearbox, cradle, swingarm etc all fit this frame without any alterations?
The bike is currently in bits so now would be the right time.
Thanks
What about the swingarm spindle setup?
Will I need the MK3 type with the cottar pins and different oil seal mechanism?
What about other items like:
- battery tray (I just bought one for the 71 model)
- front iso mount
- oil tank
I know the yoke will need to be the newer angled version, but need convincing that everything else remains...

Swing arm sits on the rear…
Swing arm sits on the rear engine plates (cradle as you call it) so no change there.
Frame is the same apart from the steering angle (as you've noted), some reinforcing around the shock absorber mounts and, depending on when your 750 was built, the side and centre stands. So everything you mentioned will swap straight across.

Mk3 Frame Differences.
Some had metric tubing which is inconvenient with one of the aftermarket head steadies and I have an idea that some 850s had a slightly broader rear seat loop which causes a problem for Fastback seat units. Not a factor with any of the other seats.
Mk3 fork yokes are unique, with the instrument panel mounts and the steering lock abutments changed over time. I'm not sure when. You'll need to make sure that the yokes you choose are compatible with the frame.
