I have a 1969 Mercury SS. The steering dampers normally have two holes drilled, but mine has four holes. Can anybody tell me why my dampers would have four holes and the reason for it. Would appreciate if somebody could throw some light on why this would be. I have attached a photo.

These are either normal earlier Dommy dampers or someone has drilled extra holes in commando ones. Whatever. I would block all the holes and re-drill 2 holes higher up as in the Covenant conversion notes..
