Replacing old non sealed wheel bearings with New sealed type

Hi
Can someone advise please.
Dominator 1960 wheel bearings
I have new bearing sets sealed type and need some advice on fitting.
do you just replace the non sealed type and discard the felt washer and steel washer, or are the required to be refitted?
This applies to front and rear wheel.
I would feel fitting sealed bearings is a better option but just want some guidance before i fit
do i need any other spacers etc?
Appreciate any help

... have identical dimensions to the unsealed type so don't need any modifications. I generally fit the felt and pen steel washers as well but there's no need for them - but some future owner may be a stickler for originality.

An excellent upgrade in my experience. Despite what is said in that article, 17x40x16mm 2RS are readily available. https://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/advanced_search_result.php?search_in_description=1&keywords1=17&keywords2=40&keywords3=16&

On my Norton Dominator I replaced both of the open single row 6203 (RHP 117 = SKF 6203)  bearings with sealed versions. These were 117PP and now are known as 6203-2Z.   So goodbye to re-greasing every 10,000 or sooner miles. You could also get the double row SKF 4203 (RHP 117DR ) with seals at one time..
However.....these are slightly thicker than the standard un-sealed bearing and a little machining is needed to get them to fit correctly.
