Petrol tank painting

Hi does anyone know anybody in North Wales who could spray and reline a petrol tank?

Bear in mind when having a petrol tank painted:

"Petrol tanks- paint your primer up to the base of any filler, but no higher. Then have the top coat and/or lacquer finish higher than that, because top coats may not be porous, but primer is and will be a path for petrol to get in and under the paintwork."

Shamelessly lifted from this month's Clasic Bike Guide*, in the article entitled Painting your bike, by Matt Hull.

*Go out and buy it any way (Jan 2024), there's a nine-page spread on the 650SS.

Reading this again, to avoid confusion should read

"Petrol tanks- paint your primer up to the base of any filler cap...."

Nothing to do with any filler that may have been applied to dings/dents etc.

Happy spraying!

Ah, this information explains a lot (of past mistakes). Cheers for that, it's very valuable knowledge.
