Yep, my mk 3 is the same,…
Yep, my mk 3 is the same, fortunately I've often had a sloping drive to the garage making it easier to do chain etc. Iirc a piece of wood +/- 1" thick is just enough to get 'air' at each end!
I picked up a scissor jack for £50 from Demon Tweaks back in November which is much easier!

Get the stand welded
Both mk3's i've owned were the same and both of them i corrected by welding. Building up with weld the stop block on the stand on the first bike and then the cradle on the current bike. Adding a bigger pad on the cradle for the stop on the stand to bear against. Makes the bike far more stable on the center stand plus easier to do chain maintainance etc.
The sidestand on these bikes needs the same treatment (on a lot of the commandos i have seen with sidestands much too far forward ) Welding the stop block on the frame is easier than welding the sidestand itself.

Have had three Commandos over the years - ‘69 Fastback , ‘73 Mk1a 850 and ‘76 Mk 3 - and they all had both front and back wheels on the ground when on centre stand. Also all easy to put on and take off stand.
