Engine oil

XL 20/50 came out very well in tests on the Access Norton site .

I have been trying out a fully synthetic 20W/50 oil for the last 3 months.
It is the B & Es of oil and solved many of my previous problems.
Firstly.......my 650 Dominator no longer lays down a smoke screen on a cold start-up each morning.
Secondly.......the engine has stopped burning oil.  I am now topping the oil tank up with just 250 ml every 500 miles.  With all other mineral 20W/50 oils I was waving goodbye to a pint for the same mileage.
On the back of the pot it says product of West Germany and prices vary wildly.
I managed to find a dealer having a sale and got 2 x 5L for just £32.

West Germany ceased to exist 34 years ago. That oil must be well past its sell by date!
