I remember watching the film "Girl on a Motorbike" in about 1967 but seem to remember a Norton 650ss being ridden . However I have recently been lead to believe only a Harley Davidson was used.. Please can someone tell me if indeed a 650ss was used in that film as I do really believe in fact such a bike was used by Marian Faithfull.?
I have been looking to get hold of that film of 1967 in DVD to no avail.

Thank you Michael ,so I was right that there was a Norton ( which I am fairly confident was a new 650ss but not absolutely sure). I seem to remember it being ridden in the snow .I would only be confident in doing the same only for the fact of it having the benefit of a Featherbed Frame.

The girl NOT on a motorcycle.
Hi Roger, I don't think Marian Faithfull did much riding. Bill Ivy, Yamaha works rider, did all the action shots wearing a blond wig ! This film has been shown on the Talking Pictures TV channel in the past few years.

Thank you Richard for verifying the fact that there was a Norton in the film even though she may not have been riding it and showing the Norton being sat on by someone else.

Nuts & Colour
The Concenric carbs, tank colour and tall cylinder flange nuts suggest this bike is most likely to be a 1967/68 Atlas.
It is one of those awful B movies where watching paint dry was more far interesting.

Dutch translation
In a second hand bookshop, I came across a Dutch translation of the book by De Mandiargues. It came with a tantalizing (for me at the time that is, I was much younger then..) title: "Naakt onder het leer" meaning so much as Naked under the leather.. Of course, I had to have it..

There was a red Norton twin in it. Looked like an Atlas or a 650SS.
Not a great film.
