Featherbed Inter

but I have looked at a couple of Fbed Inters.  The head steady is rather poor.  It's a flat plate joining the tab on the top of the steering head to the one on the frame cross-tube behind the head.  From half way along this flat plate, there is a tube which runs to the top of the cam box front right mounting bolt. 

The featherbed frame needs a much more substantial brace than that.  Something inspired by the Manx head steady will be structurally useful.

The head steady is a relatively flimsy affair but seems to do it’s job on the F/B Inter I own, with vibration fairly subdued even with pretty brisk riding.
