jubilee + .040 pistons

Hi everyone , I am finding it impossible to find any new + .040" pistons to complete my engine

build . I have some +40 barrels which are very good . Does anyone know of a supplier for +40 

pistons . NOC has the +40 rings but no pistons . Any help would be much appreciated .

I “might” have a pair of used +40 pistons in amongst my spares - won’t be sure until I’ve checked (Sunday probably) - would they be any use if I’ve got a reasonable pair?

possibly missed the boat but I need a set of +20 pistons and saw this post. Are they still available but any chance?

This may seem a bit drastic but I had the same problem and in the end I had the cylinders re-lined to take standard pistons.

This company sell standard pistons.

Norton Piston - 249cc OHV (Jubilee 250), Year: 1959-66, STD (classic-motorcycles.co.uk)

I used Meridian Engineering Services in Cambridge to reline the cylinders and they were good and reasonably priced. They can supply the liners.

Hi Dennis , I was allways told jubilee cylinders did not have liners so could not be re-lined.

But if you have had yours done i will have another look ,if they can be re-lined it may be

my only option . Thanks for the name of the company , to be continued .

Michael at " Meridian " is a great bloke, helpful and top work. 

I used him for my Land Rover Series One engine machining and I built it up, all perfect !

Recommended !

Thankfully i did not know that Jubilee cylinders could not be re-lined before I asked Meridian to do it! They did it and I am pleased with the result.

I was all ways told jubilee cylinders did not have liners so could not be re-lined.

That rule that does not exist, it all depends on the strength of the original barrel and nothing to do if it was linered from the beginning or solid.
