Has anyone got information on how to locate a 1974 mk2 a 850 kickstart only main harness that will connect directly with the original good front end harness TIA.

Hi Will,

Our friends at Andover Norton carry stock:

06.2089

https://andover-norton.co.uk/en/shop-details/17461/main-harness-06-2089-54961586-commando-

Alternatively, there is a Lucas/Wassell variant stocked by the likes of RGM:

One thing to bear in mind with the Lucas/Wassell flavour are the mistakes on the diagram that comes with it.

This can be confusing (the harness is fine, it's just the paperwork that is not accurate)

I have addressed that in an article on my site:

The other option you have is to build your own, it is not as scary as it sounds, and the benefit is you can build it to your own spec, accomodating changes you have made (charging and electronic ignition are two common upgrades)

You can also do away with the bulk of connectors under the tank, and the interpol wiring that maybe superfluous to your needs.

I have helped a few people with custom wiring, feel free to have a mooch through my website and help yourself.

Here is an example of a wiring diagram for our very own Jem Nicholls that may inspire you to do similar!

...shit, this looks like a Grant Tiller advert.
It's not.
There is nothing in it for me, other than I get to help people that are in to their Nortons.

This is an advert for A O Services. I do a wiring kit for British bikes, there is a Alternator version and a Dynamo version. They have the correct colour wires, with details of what each wire does, connectors, sleeving, and amalgamating tape. We can adapt to some of your wiring needs as well.
