Hi.
I'm trying to find a luggage rack for my 850 Mk2A Commando. Can anyone advise as to where I might be able to get one?
Many thanks.

All in stainless and well made, any brown staining at the welds will rub out with 5% phosphoric acid and nylon souring pad.

Mk2 and 2a's have the extended rear shock gusset plates so less need for rear hoop supports, my MK2a has had a rack for years and no rear hoop droop. Adding them is not difficult if you plan to carry heavy luggage on the back.

Commando rack
I've got an Andover Norton rack/pannier frame for sale if you are interested. It's in excellent condition. I want £165 incl post , let me know if you want.

Craven's kit for their L-rack is apparently designed for later models with hinged seats and lacks any means of attachment for other models. Also, it comes by default with J-stays to the pillion footrest mountings which by my lights would put the carrier far too high and too far back.
On my Fastback I was able to easily reproduce the frame-clip and spacer arrangement needed through the good fortune that I still had racing number plates that I made up for Vincent/Velo Club high speed trial in the '70s, designed to fit to the carrier mountings, which thus gave me the required locations for the frame clips.
For the rest, cutting off the short arm of the J-stays gave me items of a suitable length to bolt to the so-called "skis" attached to the lower horizontal rail of the carrier (a worthwhile innovation, in my view).
The J-stay offcuts proved exactly right to hang rear indicators from the carrier skis.

Classicbikeracks.co.uk
Hi.
Thanks for all the replies.
I'm going to go for the Classicbikeracks.co.uk rack, as I don't want panniers on this bike....I was looking for a grab rail, when I figured it might as well have a rack.

Classicbikeracks
I recently fitted one of the Classic Bike Racks to my 1972 Roadster having gone through exactly the same thought process as David Buckley!
The rack now fits fine and the one I purchased is of good quality and finish as supplied.
I did have problems fitting the P-clips supplied (22mm) to the rear frame loop which is 25.4mm (1 inch) tubing. 25mm clips fitted ok. Also for the front fitting to the inside of the stud that connects the rear suspension units, I found it best to use a narrow half-size nyloc nut (3/8" UNF) - I purchased mine from Grove Components on ebay. This is in addition to the original nut and washer tightened to the frame. There is just enough thread for this narrow nut and the front arms of the rack. There are no fitting instructions!
I'll post some photos later if that helps.
I'm very happy with the rack as fitted.

I made my own, £30 for 316 stainless tube and around £55 for the softbags but realise that's probably too much hassle for you, seems to work well though

This is what I did.
This is a KG touring carrier from the 80's. Available quite used on ebay. You can mix and match the various mounting kits to fit. I used K-107.
