Lack of fuel at carbs

Forums

Hi , has anybody had a problem with the fuel taps , I.e had to remove the filters from the fuel taps to increase the flow of fuel .

The internal rubbers in some designs of taps can expand closing off the internal fuel hole, drill a new hole through the rubber for short term fix, replace with better design for long term fix.

On my 99 Dommie tickle carbs no fuel flow and difficult to start. Squeeze the fuel pipe below the fuel filter and filter fills presumably as a vacuum sucks in petrol and then all as tickle carbs fuel flows freely out of back of carb. Bike then starts and ticks over effortlessly. Maybe suspect fuel filter in tank possibly a little gummed up which could be problem for Martin as well around the filter area. Cheers, Hugh
