Hi,
I’m after a new 12v dry cell battery for my 36’ 16H. Can anyone recommend where best to buy one from please, and is there a particular battery I need?
Thanks
Hi Ian, thanks for the reply…
Hi Ian, thanks for the reply. The bike originally had a 12v battery fitted when I had it. I used this for a while and found that since changing back to a dry cell 6v battery, the lighting isn’t as great now, (although I’m not out after dark, I have got back around dusk and that’s when you notice the difference).
So I was thinking of going back up to 12v as the 6v battery also doesn’t hold the charge as long as the 12v?

You really...
... need to check whether you have a 12 volt regulator fitted. Changing between 6 and 12 volts isn't just a matter of the battery - regulator and light bulbs also need to correspond. A 6 volt horn will survive on 12 but 12 volt horn on 6 volt supply will emit just a feeble peep.

Hi Ian, You can tell I know…
Hi Ian,
You can tell I know a lot about such thing, not!!
Thanks for the link; just having a cursory look at this site and it looks really useful! A bit of bedtime reading now for me before venturing forth. I assume the old original regulator on the bike will probably be 6v then I guess, therefore I’ll have a look this weekend to find out first.

... as it would have been 6 originally? I use alarm type sealed batteries as the demands are limited given the magneto ignition and (in my case anyway) very limited after dark riding.
Something like this:
