hello nick yes too  right  this is supposed to be the Norton Owners Club, But still, information of a number for items is not being revelled  in detail  nor as this made any attempts to reproduce any of this hard to find parts  when it did promise to do so  back at the 2014 AGM,  So what's going on  Members   Yours  Anna J

There was a company at the Kempton Park auto jumble who were selling many tyre pumps for UK built motorcycles.

Nick, I fitted a Lightweight chainguard to my Jubilee that was older than the bike and it has lugs for a tyre pump on it. The lugs are twelve and a half inches apart so probably designed to take a pump of thirteen inches or so when the pump is compressed, like you used to get on bicycles.

Norton (Bracebridge Street at least) appear to have bought pumps from the Birmingham trade. I've seen Norton-marked pumps from Apex (Thapex), Britton and Britannia - The latter two came about due to a split in the family holdings and it's very difficult to know who Norton used when...It may be that they played both companies off against each other in terms of pricing.

AMC may well have had their own suppliers and introduced them on the Norton range when production moved.

Although named pumps are quite sought after for the singles, it really is a niche market. The VMCC used to supply very competent generic replicas that actually worked, in most lengths. I can't imagine that it would be worthwhile to tool up for the metalwork and mouldings to make accurate specific replicas.

I do not know the name of the company selling those tyre pumps, but their pumps had the bike's company name printed on them. These tyre pumps should not be that hard to find.

My recently-acquired Electra came with a pump fitted below the tank that is thirteen and a half inches long. No markings on it, but its alumunium.

My error...

When I've taken off my pump and cleaned it, it says Kromaq on the bottom where the adaptor screws in.
