Very nice Allen

If I was nearby I would buy you a beer for such a fine job!

Cheers mike, it’s always nice to get peer approval. Now just trying to find a pair of tank badges. Pity I missed this years local shows so will have to keep it warm till next year. ( it’s now in the house hallway)

Nice work, have made it oil tight?!   The tank badges will certainly finish it off nicely, but It’s hard to find them that aren’t corroded, I wonder if there’s enough interest to get them re manufactured?

Re the scarcity of tank badges, would it be possible/feasible to have them 3D-printed? Anyone here conversant with the technology?

Nice job Allen.

The paintwork is superb.

It took me two years to find two less than perfect tank badges but I must admit they do look good.

What about recasting some tank badges using the original badges to make the cast mould?

I am prepared to lend my badges free for a while. I would recommend using a better metal for casting than was used originally!

I got my Navigator with alloy tank badges. Must have been some aftermarket stuff,

maybe even a recast from the NOC spares Dept.?

They polished up nicely but I managed to loose one badge during the restoration process.

So I had to buy a pair of pitted ones which I had rechromed .

Picture shows the alloy ones with a template for drilling the holes in the right place.

Hi all, thanks for your kind comments. Yes it’s oil tight ( nearly). Would love to cooperate in getting the tank badges remanufactured. I approached a couple of rechromers without success. Mine are beyond redemption having spent years in a wet barn

I don't know if it's of any help but a few years ago Sheffield British Motorcycles - Bantam John had some newly manufactured badges.  Whether or not he still does I don't know but may be worth an enquiry.

When I visited Bantam John's shop last year he had new badges but wanted a lot of money for them - too rich for me.

Bantam John has polished alloy recast badges at £125 pair. Is it worth it to finish the project?. I’ll ask the wife!

I missed out on a pair of badges in fair nick on eBay yesterday. The winning bid was  I think £35.

A bit more than a h'appath but less than £125!

"I'll ask the wife" - are you selling her to buy the badges - seems a bit harsh :-)
