A Taxing Question

Dear Members,

I have a 1953 Inter for which I don't have to pay for road tax or MoT. Normally at this time of year I receive per post form V11 that invites me to renew my road tax and it generally appears about 5 February. One goes to the Post Office and renews it and there is then a receipt attached to the V11 to prove that the machine is taxed.

This year to date I have not received my V11 so I went online to renew, which I did and received a 12 digit reference number. I noted the number, date and time of my application and thought that I might receive an e-mail confirmation.

To date I do not have anything other than the 12 digit reference number.

Is my bike taxed? I have only the scribbled reference number. Is that enough? If the machine is taxed will I get an albeit late V11 per post and what happens next year, 2018 V11 or not?

Can any knowledgeable member(s) throw light on these machinations? I want to remain legal.

Regards,

Peter Bolton

Hello Peter, you could check using the link below just click (start now) button then add the reg number and make of bike then click search just check the date shown above that shows if its taxed. if you are still unsure just give them a call and ask them . it takes the system 5 days to update its self.
