Hi I have a 72 Commando Interstate which is fitted with an after market seat which is amazingly hard. Because of the foot peg position coupled with a hard flat seat i find myself becoming the pillion each and every time i pull away. My local upholsterer (Grays Essex) doesnt feel he can reshape it ??? i have seen Interstates with a 'sit in' style seat and wonder if anyone knows of a willing upholsterer.
Thank you Mark.
ps. New to Nortons and the club.
I know the feeling. I fitt…

Mark, I also ride a 72' Interstate and purchased a stepped seat from P & P Seating in Birmingham over 10 years ago and still looks ok. The reason for my purchase was for my partner to keep an eye on my speed !

Many Thanks Alan, I have e-mailed them so fingers crossed. Very luckily my wife is only 5 ft so I should be safe.

Thanks Iain, they are perfect but as you say geographically wrong, anyhow I've heard about those American seats, One yank and there off; The old ones are the best.

Mick Hemmings has these in Stock from time to time (he sells them to Britcycle), they are UK made and very good, I have the Roadster and Interstate versions, the hump is foam and can be used by a passenger in an emergency.

I don't know this company but they were mentioned in 'Real classic' this month.http://www.saddlecraft.com/Usual disclaimers and all that. A gel pad would help at least.

I know the feeling. I fitted the Norman Hyde item with the recessed front half of the seat and it stops the travel rearwards. Regrettably they do not make this seat any more and I am left wondering of anyone does.
When mine falls apart, I must catch it in time to get somebody else to reproduce the foam and the upholstery.
Does anyone know of anything like the Hyde seat design still out there? If not, is there sufficient demand for the NOC Spares Scheme to take it over?
