Changing 11/16ths to 3/4 Clutch

Forums

Hi. Can anyone advise me on whether it's possible to swap an 11/16ths output shaft and clutch set up for a 3/4 output shaft and clutch set up. If so, is there anything else that needs swapping other than those parts, or do all the gearbox internals and any casings need to be changed. The spider in my 11/16ths is beyond repair and I can't find one, but I've been offered a 3/4 set up. The bike is unrideable as it is. Thank you in anticipation Phil

I think i've found the answer, and it's no you can't.  That is unless anyone knows differently.

Hi Phil, have you thought of asking the Jampot lads. I have noticed, during reading up on Matchless/AJS, that I think they have more variations in clutch/gearbox part options.

Have you messaged Andy to see if he knows of any clutch spiders? If they really are that rare we aught to think about getting a batch made. There's a couple on eBay at the moment

Try calling rather than emailing. Neil's new number can be found by clicking on 'More' in the 'News' sidebar.

Bear also in mind that Neil is pretty much a one man band volunteer who runs the Spares Scheme in his spare time and services a significant number of orders.
