Clutch friction material thickness

Well the 1959 Maintenance Manual & Instruction Book doesn't give any such information even though it gives detailed information on clutch dismantling and re-assembly. It merely says "having obtained any necessary new parts ...... ".

55 years ago it was accepted practice to only renew parts when they were broken or obviously worn out. So if the clutch works nothing needs replacing - well that was the theory then. So it's really down to your own choice.
