I'm just checking the camshaft and I see the only marking on it is 'T'. This doesn't correspond to the S, SS and SSS variants in the literature.
Can anyone tell me what this is? The shaft has scrolled bearings and is in surprisingly good nick, so I assume this1972 Commando (207352) has had a replacement cam at some time.
Thanks.

Standard camshaft. I don't know what, if anything, the 'T' signifies; probably a manufacturer's mark.
Incidentally, it's not SS etc. but 2S, 3S, 4S. Although you might come across some aftermarket copies marked 'SS.
[edit] I might be wrong about the 2S. I've looked in my old camshaft drawer and the 2Ses are stamped 'SS'; I'm sure at least one of them is genuine. Still known as '2S' though.
