I'm having trouble, ie failing, to dismantle 2 parts of a 1940s Amac carb.
These are the float chamber top and a jet. Both are brass and screwed into the carb body. The float chamber has a hexagon 'nut' cast into the top to help turn it. The jet has a screwdriver slot but it's wide and rounded; it is threaded and I have to be careful not to damage the threads as a cap screws on to seal it.
I've tried - WD 40, 2 days immersed in carb cleaner, 3 days immersed in Acetone and simmered it in boiling water on the stove for 15 minutes.
No sign of movement, so advice welcome.

Deep freeze the lot and pour…
Deep freeze the lot and pour hot water over the Carb top while applying spanner or strap wrench. Heat the body and apply ice to the jet ,or drill it out !

Fading memory
Without being able to confirm a vague memory from more than half a century ago. On some carbs, the float chamber top was secured by a vertical small hex head screw that interfered with the float chamber thread, preventing the top to unscrew itself. Anybody knows if I'm right?

Success!
I left the carb soaking in diesel for about a week. Today I put it in a saucepan with diesel, brought it to the boil and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
Then into the (padded) vice and with a bit of effort, both parts came free!
It's a good job I don't have a smoke alarm in the kitchen. The room stank for a few hours but worth it.
