Can anyone help with my electronic ignition unit [EIU] for my Rotary IP2? This IP2 was owned by Norton and used as a "Demonstrator". There is a difference in cable colours shown on the Wiring Diagram [WD] and those those on the actual EIU.
The wiring diagram shows; The EIU has;
Red, 12V going to Ign Unit Relay [IUR] .............. BUT no red on EIU /. Does this red simply pass straight through the EIU? If so can I just wire into my ignition switch?
Slate Red and White Slate going to Ignition Retard Unit .............BUT no SR and WS on my EIU
My EIU however does have a Slate and Slate Black which is NOT shown on the WD
All other colours agree.
Sorry about the abbreviations [EIU etc] it saves my little fingers but I hope it is not too confusing [I wrote it and I am confused so ...]
I have tried asking at ANIL, Startright and the Rotary Owners Club but so far no joy and I want to get on with the rebuild.
I presume the bike is younger than the WD, may have been experimented on?
