Been looking for a while for a rear number plate mount for a 1955 ES2. Part number K12/532. Think it must be a rare beast, anybody know of a supplier of one?
Cheers, Paul

Thanks Jim, seems I am more likely to juggle soot.
Do you know of a suitable alternative that, when fitted, wouldn't scare small children to look at?

Do you have a better photo? That looks suspiciously like the one (the wrong one I know) on the back of my 1963 88SS. The top of mine has a fold but not a rib.
I keep prominsing myself I shall find the correct one someday. I always thought is was foreign (maybe BSA...)
If mine really is BSA then maybe it's easier to find by looking for something so nearly the same but not really Norton.
I think I've attached a picture.

Hi Paul,
The only option is to alter a BSA type and it still may not look right. David, that looks like a BSA type and I've attached aside viewofan original 55 rear number plate.

Thanks both, I have seen these BSA types on various trade stalls and wondered if they would fit. David your photo convinces me it's worth a punt. In the meantime I shall keep my eyes peeled for some hens teeth and if any of us find any it might make sound financial sense to get some copies made?
Maybe an owners club, or some such thing, may have members with one and might consider investing some subscription money?

Hi Paul,
About four and a half years ago the NOC DID have some made but surprise, surprise they never bothered to restock. Perhaps NOW would be a good time for them to do so? The mudguards too, anything is better than that utter crap coming in from India.
The featherbed and Commando club strikes again....

Hi Paul,
This is a specific part to 1955 models and 'rare' should be replaced with 'rocking horse poo'; they are completely unobtainable anywhere. I know, I looked (and still am looking) for over three years trawling jumbles though one did turn up in the states but shipping it to the UK with the remains of a very late 55/very, very early 56model mudguard would have been way too expensive.
