hello what does the numbers in the engine mean

hello what does the numbers in the engine mean ? Maurice

This is the shop engine number. Both crankcases should have the same number to show that they are a matched pair.

This number and the shop frame number are recorded in the Despatch Records together with the sequential engine and frame numbers.

thanks, well i keep looking for a mod 18 crankcase set
