On my Mark 11a Commando, the rear forks at the base are touching the in side primary chain cover - is this correct?
Stewart, if you mean the end of the swing arm pivot, where the dust cap sits then no it should not contact the primary inner (it shouldn't anywhere of course). You need to shim the centre bolt so that when the front three case fixings are tight and there is the correct thick gasket in place against the case, a correct thickness of shim only just sits between the boss on the inner case and the end of the fixing stud hex. Of course you have to remove the primary drive, clutch etc.
