Lucas U39 switch connections

Forums

I'm in the middle of rewiring my 1957 ES2 and am having a problem identifying the correct terminals on the light switch. The previous owner(s) have fitted a handlebar dip/horn switch .However, when I test the terminals on the switch in the headlight shell I get a non-sensical series of connections. Anyone got a wiring diagram and a good photo of the back of the switch?

Cheers, Chaz

Quick update - solved the conundrum, caused by me expecting to see volts on the horn feed in the dip/horn switch! Its used to make the return, earth connection from the horn D'oh!

All is now well, bright headlight, the battery doesn't go flat and shows a charge at just above idle.

Now to sort the clutch drag, front brake and fuel system...........
