The cylinder barrel of my 1960 Model 50 looked like new when I bought it some 9 months back now but, unfortunately, the gloss (or semi-gloss perhaps) black paint used by whoever restored it seems to be disappearing off the edges of some of the cooling fins..
Any recommendations for paint that I could use to touch this up?
Thanks, Kevin
I used Paragon Black Enamel…

Paragon Black Stove Enamel
I am wondering if this would be suitable for repairing an existing finish and whether running the engine afterwards is sufficient to cure it?

Think I'm still using…
Think I'm still using Hermatite pot black . Whatever you use a decent de-grease and a wash with hot water and sugar soap helps prepare the surface for the paint to key on.

Barrel Paint.
I too use pot black for touch up after a good clean of the area.
Remember that like other 'hot' paints: It is not fully cured until it gets up to temperature.
For best results remove the barrel and have it lightly powder coated...Perfection.
Note I said lightly and a coater who is experienced in such items will know how much to apply.

Keith,
It's an air drying enamel that is heat resistant. Hard dry after 16hrs at 20C

I used Paragon Black Enamel with good results on my Commando. Its a high build enamel that can be applied by brush, and heat resistant to 230C.
