"Fastest Norton" Roadholder article Feb issue

Forums

Hope you all enjoyed reading the 2nd instalment of the rebuilding of my Atlas that the Roadholder editor was kind enough to publish in the Jan & Feb issues. I've gotta say it was a fun project. The ol' bike is still going strong and is a blast to ride.

Graham I think you've done a great job with your Atlas, I love the period 60s tank cover. You should be congratulated for saving another Norton and putting it back on the road where they belong!

It makes me despair when I read the negative comments on the forum - how on earth can the club attract younger members like myself (young-ish at 30) if this type of attitude is prevalent? My 1960 99 Slimline is already non-standard so I'm keeping it that way.

Ignore the haters and keep on keeping on!

As requested Graham... mine is definitely a work in progress! Has a nice John Tickle replica TLS and flanged ally rims. I'm hoping to put an RGM belt primary on when the engine and gearbox are done. I'll be ditching the period sweptbacks in favour of a standard pair from Armours or the Club shop. Hopefully I can get cracking on it properly this year. Managed to reclaim the original reg number thanks to the sterling efforts of Mr Paul Nicholls!

Thanks Graham! It'll be a slow rebuild for sure as I have just started a new job so much of my time is taken up with that. Bit by bit I'll get there. Can't wait to get it all done then have it picked apart by Al Osborn and the like (insert evil cackle here)!

Hi Graham,

I read your rebuild story with much interest.

Are you going to Corbridge in July? I am sure many of us would like to see and hear the mighty Atlas in the flesh.
