Swinging arm bearings

Forums

Not sure if I dreamt this or not.  Are our spares team looking for a suitable replacement for the swinging arm bush, aka "silentbloc" bush?  I think there was some discussion as to whether or not it was the same as the heavyweight?

Any progress or should I be looking at an alternative bearing arrangement?

Thanks for the reply Stan.  The reason I ask is that I have a recently acquierd swinging arm thats been powdered coated.  The rubber in the bushes seems to have suffered, whether its heat or old age I don't know.

Either way replacement is needed.  I have a few ideas if silentblocs are not available.

I have heard that  there has been some mix up occasionaly with silentblock bushes ,perhaps between models? . I consider the bushes to be  for life as they seem indestructible in use., mine are 63 and still perfect. There has been conversions to bronze bushes ,probably an advantage only for racing?.

Hi,

The Lightweight swinging arm silentblock bushes have been ordered and are being manufactured. Peter Holland will test and inspect the first ones and if all ok, they will then be on sale in the NOC shop.

I think this should be end of August.

Watch this space.
