Petrol tank fixing

Hi Guys... Another daft question... sorry!

The petrol tank for my 650SS is secured at the rear with a rubber band. It obviously fits over the hook on the rear of the tank but I can't see anywhere obvious on the frame where the rubber band would fit. Could someone give a dozy ol' fart a hint, please?

Hi John. On my slimline Dommie 99 the front of the seat locates on two rearward facing prongs welded to the frame. The rubber band loops around the prongs. The part of the band over the top of the prongs then goes over the hook on the tank followed by the part of the band that runs under the prongs. That means the hook on the tank has two sections of the band over it. That  keeps the tank firmly down.

My  99 uses a large synthetic rubber "O" ring   which was from  a large  oil filter  on one of my vans .  fitted like Tony's.
