For a 1974 850 Commando, what are the choices we have today for stock size valves?

I will mount them in a Fullauto too. When you're talking about seat sizes, is it the width not to exceed when lapping them?

Good to know that standard valve springs and collets are OK,  but I may still buy new ones. Depending on how deep are my pockets.

Fullauto is number 238. I'm trying to find some KBR valves seals.

I'll have to check alloy intake manifolds to see what I can do. I believe it's quite tricky to modify exactly the volume between the throttle valve and the inlet valve on RH and LH.

How do you manage to have the correct play between stems and guides?

An earlier forum topic lead me to a thread on Access Norton. One commentator, having replied to a different OP listed the mods to his Commando in the footer. As well the usual things like hi-comp pistons and modified cams, he listed "Lager Valves". Now I know that engines such as late works Manxes and the like had sodium-cooled exhaust valves, but that was a new one on me!

I know Jim's work and will see how to match all this together.

For my stock valves, Fullauto guides are too small. I've ordered the KBD at Holland Norton Works, will see how it goes.
