Hi,
Have new steel tank and fibreglass side panels and want to refinish them in the original light blue metalflake colour for my 69 S code (as per example)
I am in Heathrow area. Any recommendations for a quality paint shop or even a member with the skills? Prefer someone with experience with the larger metalflakes.
No hurry. Even better if anyone else wants to double up and save costs!
All the best
Eddie
I have a fastback the same…

I had my 72 tank and side panels done in Fireflake Blue by FD Motorcycles in Essex (close to Stanstead Airport).

They weren't cheap (they supplied the new tank too) nor quick (about three to four months) but I'm very happy with their work.
I struggled to find anyone to do the job as not many painters like to use flakes.

Have also used FD Motorcycles for a paint job - the guy there is very good but you do pay for it.

Dream Machine
I haven't used them myself, but a friend was very happy with Dream Machine's work on his Hailwood Replica (http://www.dream-machine.co.uk) — recommended by a well-known independent Ducati workshop.

I have a fastback the same colour, I have waited 5 months for my painter to do it, still not started as far as I’m led to believe, seems to be a painter thing. He charges plenty so it’s not cheap. I think they learn some special skills at paint school! No I’m not recommending him, I’m in Scotland anyway. Be interested to see if you get yours back before I do!
