Im about to fit indicators to my ES2 and am looking for a period LH switch that will do the horn, main and dip and indicators, the advance/retard is on the RH. The best I can find is this for a T140, has anyone found anything equally suitable?
Many thanks
Dan
I've used one of these...
... on my ES2. It works quite well although like the the Commado indicator is up & down rather than left & right.
There are 2 versions - I started with the one that just has the indicators but changed to one with the horn as well as having the horn on the right side was too much of a stretch. They're what I would call adequate quality rather than superb but work and do the job. I have the dip switch on the right bar - TBH I don't ride at night so don't need ready access to it.

Yes - period is in this case…
Yes - period is in this case just meaning something that doesn’t look like its off a Suzuki bandit or similar!! I did think of bar end indicators like on the Electra, but i have bar end mirrors. The ES2 bike is ridden all year round and in the dark/fog, hand signals are just not safe, so I’m fitting indicators, hopefully they wont look too conspicuous,
The switch above is from the 70’s and has a horizontal indicator switch and vertical dip. But i think I've found a cheaper version which is painted black that i intend to strip and polish - I’ll post some pics when i have finished.
Al can you remind me what the standard British bike colours are for indicators? i seem to have lost your guide!
thanks

Colours!
Dan-RH indicator is Green/White, while the LH is Green/Red. The Flasher unit feeds the switch with LghtGreen/Brn but there is no such colour available these days so I have used Green/Brn.
If you want the right cables let me know. By the way Japanese indicators often have Black/White wires and a plain colour. But the Black/Wht is the earth. Be careful.

Or green....
... if it's a Honda just to confuse.

Not for everyone, but …
… I'm rather pleased with the MZ indicators and switch on my bike. The handlebar's also off a TS250/1.

Not pretty, I agree …
Al, not pretty, I agree — tidied up with shrink-wrap subsequently.

Julian That works well, I’m…
Julian
That works well, I’m going for a more discrete look, with small rubber mounted LED indicators, I need a dip switch/indicator combined switch as the advance retard is on the other side.

Period LH switch? At the risk of being pedantic the ES2 is from the 50s but the switch shown is from the 80s, but there again 1950s motorcycles didn't have indicators. Or am I just being picy about the word Period? But at least your switch looks to have British bullets (4.7mm-3/16) and maybe the colour cables are correct!
