I have been suffering with punctures seemingly caused by sharp rubber flash on the inner side of the tyre bead Avon SM rear that wears into the tube. Has anyone seen this on their bikes?. Can you recommend an equivalent 3.50 /19 " as a replacement ? Modern metric tyres dont fit my bike.
It depends..

I have had this problem 3 times , current tyre is new this year, E mail sent to Avon. I will try to trim off but notice a similar detail on a 20 year old NOS Dunlop TT100 , I also have last years SM which is the same. Perhaps the Mitchelin Airstop tubes are made thinner or softer now. Off road tube could be a tougher alternative. Do Mitas have the same detail?.

Is it inner tubes? I have to…
Is it inner tubes? I have to pump up my tyres every time I use them...within a week or two they lose too much air to be rideable.

.. on your riding but I've found the Mitas range good value and easy to fit. They have good handling properties in the dry but haven't tried them in the wet. They're available from Wheelhouse Tyres in "proper" sizes. https://www.wheelhousetyres.co.uk/3-50-19-mitas-h-02-63p-universal.html
