Firstly, I have just aquired a basket case Fastback. I've rebuilt several Triumph triples and a Mk3 Roadster from the ground up over the years. The fastback I have has matching numbers of 148840. From looking on the VIN plate it says a July 1971 model. I'm gradually piecing everything together to see what's there and what isn't. Tonight I have done a 'dummy run' putting the handlebar switch gear onto new handlebars. What's thrown me a little is the handlebar switch gear has cables for indicators running through the righthand side loom. My question being would July '71 models have had indicators fitted at some stage in the production or where the cables put into the handlebar loom ready for when they were introduced, in the next year as I understand 1972 models?
Secondly, the wiring diagram says the light switches being on the right hand side of the handlebars. I'm used to having lighting gear on the left side of the bars in the Triumphs I have rebuilt. Was this a Norton v Triumph thing and the wiring doagram is correct?
Thirdly, I have put an ad in the wanted section for a good front mudguard and stays for this model
many thanks in advance

Indicators 72 onwards, handlebar switches were swapped sides in 73ish by Norton from customer preference being noted, so whatever takes your fancy.
