Would there be any instructions here in how to adjust the cam chain tension on a 65 Atlas? I do have the support tool.

Neill says "3/16" and Haynes…
Neill says "3/16" and Haynes says "1/8". Al knows more about Dommies than most.

Haynes is good as a doorstop…
Haynes is good as a doorstop, not much else.
With this amount of movement it would not have any loose movement, as in a final drive chain.
Well you don't have a swingarm inside the timing case varying the centre to centre distance, the 3/16 up and down is a good figure but has to be checked in several positions in case the chain has a tight spot. Loose chain will mean wandering timing which you do not want.

3/16 up and down (the same as a Commando) in the top run. Check with the engine turned so that the valve springs are not tensioning the chain. Check several places in case there is a tight spot on the chain. A cut away timing cover is useful.
