A/P Brake Pads Norvil /Fairspares cast iron set up

Sorry if this is an old chestnut, My 74 Mk 2a has always worn EBC Double H sintered pads in the 10 years plus that i have had it,  the type recommended for Triumph Twins of a similar vintage,but the stress is on  "Worn" .  Nothing wrong with the performance exactly, but it will eventually wear out the disc, Is that still the benchmark?    Thanks.
