Hi All,
My late father left me a CSI engine No: CS373812, which i intend to use for as project. Am i right in thinking this would a OHC 1928 engine???

Five digit engine numbers.
Usually prefixed with “CS1” so it could be1928 (36900 - 4100) or 1937 (69800 - 81500). If it’s 28 it’s a Moore cricket bat engine. 37 would be a Carrol motor.

I picked my engine up today and its in better condition but its missing a few parts, anyhow i posted some photo's it looks like it had a top replacement as the engine number is different any idea of age etc.. or any information at all would be welcome.

Your crankcase number is 1928; the cylinder barrel comes in at 1929. I believe that was the last year of cricket bat engines. Will be an interesting project.

Hi Steve,
May pay to recheck the crankcases. You appear to have one digit too many.
Also check the barrel flange above the crankcase number as there should be a number there as well.
