My slimline Dommi is getting a bit awkward to roll on and off the main stand and as the side stand lug fractured some time ago I do not have a side stand. So - I intend to fit a new side stand. From previous posts I can see that the RGM version is an improvement on the original, but has anybody used the Andover Norton version? I know Anna devised a home made mount that enabled the use of a Japanese second hand stand. This seems a good idea as it does away with the original design, which can, and in my case, did fail. Problem here is that from the image that Anna posted, it is not very clear as to the design of the replacement bracket at the lower end.
Onto the main stand: There is some wear on the welded on strengthening plate where the stand contacts the frame rails. This should fill out ok with weld, which in turn may make a difference to the position of the bike when on the stand, I.e - not quite so nose down, which in turn may help with rolling on and off ( less heaving). Has anybody used the Norvil roll-on centre stand? Unfortunately there are no images of this stand on the Norvil website, so I am a bit blind towards this stand!
Any help is much appreciated.
Had my centerstand frame…

Thanks Robert. That is…
Thanks Robert.
That is helpful to see that removing years of damage done by metal contact with the infill weld helps. I was also thinking that grinding a radius on the front edge of the stand feet, (which by design have an angular contact point to roll over) may help the roll on one off!
