As some of you might remember,
I built a 1957 pre Featherbed Model 50 over a long period some years back. I could repeat much on this topic but I just wanted to say that the rear shocks for this model are between the slimline and the wideline lengths. About 12.4" from memory. Only Norman of NJB was prepared to make shocks of the correct type and length, that I could find. Well done NJB.
More recently, finishing a Dommie racer project, I used NJB upside down shocks, the real shocker was that there wasn't enough room to allow the brake rod to pass the bottom spring coil. I put this to Norman and he made a modification that raised the spring enough to allow the rod to clear when fully extended. FOC.
I have no connection with NJB other than their shocks are on four of my Norton's with no complaint. To add to the bargain, NJB's are a lot less expensive to another leading brand I could mention.
