Jubilee deluxe rear mudguards

Hi

Does anyone have details, photos of the jubilee deluxe without the rear valance attached?

I wish to see the rear guard fitment, I have the initial/first guard piece which attaches to the vertical frame, but not the second piece?

If its like its big brother the 99DL that uses the same rear bathtub  ,I dont think there is a full  rear mudguard.   However if there is room I would make one to fit. Will stop spray entering the tool tray and getting into the carb.The 99 has a short section that runs from under the tray to the crossmember behind the gearbox.

The deluxe versions only have a short rear mudguard, this enables you to remove the rear wheel more easily backwards after removing the rear number plate. The spares books are not always easy to use and not all parts are shown on the drawings.

You are all correct in that the rear 'mudguard' is only 1/2 size and fits under the seat in front of the wheel. Norton invented the 'hugger' before such a thing existed! It fastens in two places:

1) An 'up-along-down' bracket, fixed to the centre channel and under the swing arm. Its Plate No G98 on the frame drawing in the parts book (PNo 21278 - in stock NOC Spares).

2) The frame spacer G19 has a bracket welded to it that supports the back of the tool tray AND the top of the semi-mudguard.

3) Originally, a hardboard 'baffle' was also installed (PNo 22094) with this semi-mudguard to keep road dirt away from the underseat area (& carburettor!). I have one in a lock-up far, far away that I will photograph next time I'm passing.

Some of you with an unmolested bike may find a 2nd smaller version of this baffle (PNo 23652) in the centre channel behind the gearbox - again designed to keep road dirt out.

I am in the process of restoring a Navigator DeLuxe and have the similar half mudguard dilemma.

I would prefer not to have road dirt, grit etc sprayed all over the seat battery and carb and so am thinking of fitting a full mudguard, keeping the half one for any future owner. I had not considered the wheel removal scenario. RGM Norton stock a deep fibreglass one p/n 23252FG which I felt could be useful, easy to modify etc, need to think more on the wheel removal.
