Dear Members,
Does anyone know where I can buy a replacement condenser for my 1960 coil ignition ES2? I thought I had covered myself by having a spare but it is too long at 1". The one that has been installed on the bike is 3/4" long and there's no way I can get my "new replacement" to fit.

If you can't get the correct size condenser, it can always be mounted near the coil, connected to the wire from the points to the coil.

First of all thank you for the responses which I really appreciate. I have contacted Distributor Doctor via their website and am awaiting their response.
I would like to try the offer from Mr Anthony Curzon but am unsure how we can get in contact.
Sorry to appear so silly in all this but it is an area outside of my normal expertise.

I contacted The Distributor Doctor and the extremely helpful proprietrix has sorted me out. Ordered two in case I have a repeat of the problem in the future.

Just for the record condenser
The condenser is best fitted on the outside of the 18D1/18D2, if it is mounted with the coil the points will tend to burn out more than normal. Any 1960s car condenser will do in this situation.

Why would that be Al?
I can't see that the length of wire between the points and condenser makes any difference. For what it's worth I fitted a car-type condenser remotely on a Triumph 500 I had for a while and it worked perfectly well.
