I've removed the bolt, and managed to jiggle it lose about 1/2”, but now it’s stopped, and no amount of wiggling or careful levering will move it further. A small puller would likely work, but I don’t have one. Any ideas?

steel wedge
Hello well I use a steel wedge that was home made for this job just tap in about half way the kick start leaver just comes away easy yes its as easy as that. Anna j.

On my 650 Dominator the only way I can get the kick-start lever off its shaft is to hammer a wide-blade screwdriver into the shoulder split. A good dose of heat would possibly help as well. Mind out for any fuel leaks first!!!
