Navigator Front Mudguard

Forums

Hi

Can someone give the length  of the front mudguard spacers that fit between the U bracket and the fork legs

Thanks, Steve

Don't think there were spacers with the original  U brace and Roadholder legs. It may be that you have the wrong brace as there are 7" and 73/8" width Roadholders.  Important that the mudguard does not pull the legs together ,so you may have to pack with washers . Easier to fit if the silly studs are replaced with bolts!!. But getting the studs out is another story.

Steven,

I thought some pictures of my unrestored 1964 Navigator mudguard bracket might help.  They are the later 7 3/8" forks and the mudguard and bracket are original.   As you can see the bracket is a straight 'U' with no spacers and the mudguard is quite a tight fit.   Good luck with yours.

The brackets have to be pressed to fit close to the legs. You will probably have to buy a few old ones on e-Bay till you eventually get the right one, I went through a similar exercise to fit a valenced guard to the Late Atlas. I think I used a late Navvy or electra bracket!!.

Malcolm,

I'm not sure if this will fit but looking at the Norvil on line catalogue they list a 64 on front mudguard stay / bridge which looks remarkably like the one on my Navigator with the 7 3/8" Roadholders, it even has the two bolt holes on top to attach it to the mudguard - very expensive at £24.66 but perhaps worth a look?   I've attached the photo from the catalogue - part number 030254.   If you decide to go that way can you let us know if it fits?

Cheers

I don't know if this one would work or not.  But you could query the seller about its dimensions.
