I've given up trying to get the cover oil tight, the square seals don’t work for me at previous owners have butched the seating groove, so this was my answer, I’ll let you know how it holds up!

Yes - that will work - but remember you still need to add the two litte seals on the ratchet shaft itself. Make sure its lubed on assembly - or gearchanging may be difficult
